My love for old school tv game shows and the iPhone have merged.

Freemantle Media
the production company for big name reality game shows like American Idol, America’s Got Talent and Family Feud to name a few, bring you Million Dollar Password and The Price is Right to the iPhone and iPod Touch. Fremantle used different developers for each.

Million Dollar Password 1.0.2

The Password game show series beginning in the 60′s, has been through many different revivals over the years and is currently being revised by CBS in 2009, with Regis at the helm and re titled Million Dollar Password. The app developed by RealNetworks Inc, is a basic cartoon-like version of the show, although the we can’t tell how much it reflects the new reincarnation premiering in 09. Your goal is basically unscrambling a number of words before the clock runs out.
After each successful round Regis moves you closer to a million dollars, much
like Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
As you win you move through episodes of the season playing as celebrity-cartoon contestants.
Career Mode saves the total money you have earned throughout the season, although
you have the option to play in Quick Mode as well on Easy, Medium or Hard.

Your goal is to unscramble the words seen at the top of the screen. Each word
scramble will give you three hints as to what the word is. Hints come one at a time and will drain
your time the longer you wait. Touch the scrambled letters at the bottom to spell the password out displayed above. If your totally stuck you have the ability to pass but be careful because you
only get 3. The yellow bar indicates the amount of time you have left in the round.
Solving the mini-game crossword searches quickly will give you bonus time, to
solve touch slide your finger across the found word starting at the first letter.

Pass the round and Regis will give you the option of taking the cash or a chance at moving up on the money ladder and playing another round.
If you decide to take the cash and walk away while in career mode your wins
will be added and saved. Reach 25,000 or 250,000 and you’ve reached a safe zones.

Million Dollar Password can also be played in multiplayer which is a different concept from regular single player mode. Multiplayer mode offers Quick play and party mode. Quick play is one episode of play, one winner as Party mode is team to team no money ladder. Players form teams. One team views the app and gives out clues while the other team guesses.
If the word is guessed the opposing team selects correct or invalid. The Team
who accumulates the most money wins.

The Price is Right 1.0.1

Originally created in 1956 it aired on NBC then later ABC from 56 to 65, and came back in the 70′s with a new host. The revamp from 72 was one of my favorite classic game shows from the 70′s hosted
by Bob Barker.

To be a champion at this game you need to be a mega consumer as the game is basically guessing the cost of products from everything from brand specific coffee makers to cruises to Spain. The graphics of this app are surprisingly realistic and quite impressive, incorporating real video of the showcases (products) with real models.

Contestants are human-like and the set is true to the original show. The game
play is a true reflection of the show and surely will endear fans and non-fans
alike.

So come on down…your the next contestant!
Create and customize your players. Play alone or in Party mode (multi-player)
with up to 4 players.

Like the show, the game begins at the contestants row, just bid closest to the
retail price of the item without going over and you will move on to play with
Bob.

Complete all the challenges in the the game and you will unlock access to the
pricing games. Play for high scores on games.

The game is filled with all the mini-games you remember from the show like Plinko and Hole In One, ultimately ending with the Showcase Showdown where you prove your consumer skills in a battle of retail prices. In case you were wondering, yes you can spin the wheel and it is very realistic.

The developers at Ludia clearly went all out with this game. Much appreciated.
