While the iPad is changing the way we read books, developers are hard at work bringing life to our favourite publications; books, magazines and newspapers.
Pop-up books aren’t just for kids– not on the iPad.
The Pilgrim’s Progress: From This World To That Which Is To Come, a 300+ year old Christian allegory, is currently being transformed into an interactive pop-up book and it appears to be a sweet experience. As far as I’m aware this will be the first book on the iPad to digitize the tradition pop-up style.
Here is an inspirational demo of Pilgrim’s Progress, a project Tako Games has yet release for the iPad. This is an exciting example of what’s to come for the iPad.
Looks very cool – well executed, attention to details.

Miniville’s Alice in Wonderland
Check out Miniville’s Alice in Wonderland. It is a beautiful interactive story book for iPhone, iPod and iPad set in a tiny 3D Wonderland. There is a free version and a $0.99 version. Both contain the entire story. The child interacts with the story by touching characters, trees and other objects in each scene. Each character activates animations and sounds. The story is progressed by touching Alice in each scene.
In the most recent update all the artwork and audio has been redone with a professional artist and a professional voice over actor. You children will delight as they follow Alice through her journey through Wonderland.
