So you’ve probably already heard that shooting video using the iPhone 4 is brilliant, sexy and gives a new meaning to the term mobile-movie-making. This fangirl isn’t going to bore you gushing about the unbelievable quality of the footage I’ve taken or the ability to shoot 720p, 30fps on the rear/front facing cam. I just wanted to share with you a little footage I’ve taken so far, additionally pointing out some questionable differences with the uploading quality when doing it directly from the iPhone.
I thought I’d do a test of the quality of video (720p, 30fps) when you upload directly to YouTube using the iPhone 4. So after uploading a 17 second video to YouTube using both methods (direct upload from phone v transfer to desktop upload from desktop), although slight, I think I notice a loss of colour and definition with the first video.
We now have the option to save & send videos to MobileMe or YouTube in high definition /720p while using a WiFi connection, though it’s still unclear to me what type of compression processes are happening. I’d appreciate some feedback, is there a difference here?
This clip was uploaded directly to Youtube from the camera roll.
This is the same video uploaded to YouTube from the desktop.
