Skyfire 2.0
The Skyfire 2.0 brings flash video to the iPhone… finally. According to the folks at Skyfire this app is an add-on to the current Safari mobile browser and is available at the app store for $2.99. Normally, we’d link to the app however it’s been taken down because they can’t seem to handle all the transcoding on their servers. Try following them on Twitter to find out when the app is going back up.

PhoneDisk
Wish you could mount your iDevices like a USB drive? You can with PhoneDisk. This desktop software works for both Mac and PC and all versions of the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. To learn more check out the full post at GeekBeat.TV

VLC Media Player
Sadly, the VLC Media Player featured on Geeklish #01 may be vanishing from the app store very soon. One of the developers over at VLC has filled copyright infringement against Apple for adding DRM to the open source media player, apparently a violation of GNU.

Moving Tales brings The Pedlar Lady of Gushing Cross to the iPad in a stunning revival of an old tale.

What is like to be a kid in 2010?

We started Moving Tales to expand and explore storytelling on the iPad platform. Not just any stories, but tales with rich legacies, many of which have been told for millennia. We are taking these stories for a walk – rephrasing and reframing them in a way that is compelling and appropriate to this new platform. Pop-up books aren’t just for kids– not on the iPad.

The Pilgrim’s Progress from This World to That Which Is to Come, a 300 year old Christian allegory, is currently being transformed into an interactive pop-up book and it appears to be a sweet experience. As far as I’m aware this will be the first book on the iPad to digitize the tradition pop-up style.

Here is an inspirational demo of Pilgrim’s Progress, a project Tako Games has yet release for the iPad. This is an exciting example of what’s to come for the iPad.
